For the past few days I’ve been nesting, cleaning, clearing, eliminating and re-arranging.
I love home decor as much as I love fashion, and so this weekend I spent time surfing my favorite home design blogs. One of which is Velvet & Linen, Brooke and her husband Steve are so inspirational, I love their sense of design and I love that they work and create together. I really admire couples who live theirs lives being inspired by one another.
I love her powder room!
Here’s her office, visually pleasing and peaceful, a great combination.
Brooke and her family are off visiting in Europe getting inspiration for their dream home, Patina Farm, which they will design and build, Steve is an architect. And by the way they have a new book that will be released in the fall, Patina Style. I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
One of their first stops is to meet up with Greet of Belgium Pearls, another blog I adore. After visiting Greet I began visiting other Belgian inspired blogs.
Here’s Greet’s beautiful home.
So with that I got the bug to pair down my surroundings, using my antiques and special pieces, while at the same time creating that clean line, contemporary look that comes with, Belgian design, I think it’s the best of two worlds, my love of antiques and old things along with contemporary design.
I’m still working on things, I’ll put some pics up soon. But in the meantime I tablescaped a small table behind my sofa in the great room, and have enjoyed looking at it so much, I wanted to share it with you.
The small cross bottle was a Christmas gift to myself from Greyfreth, Isa’s beautiful website. What she does with crosses, seashells and vintage bottles is breathtaking!
here…..
The Romeo and Juliet book, is one that I altered with gold leaf. I picked this copy up at a library sale, vintage 50’s and then gold leafed it to add a bit of romance!
and then a little more romance…..
Hope you enjoyed!
Much Love,
