Here is another vintage find that my daughter and I have styled for you. If you’ve been following us for a little while you know that we take the same garment, generally vintage finds, inspired by the runways and then each do our own spin on it. My daughter’s blog is Je’mappelleshen.
The wide stripes that showed up on Prada’s runways this spring gave way to this styling challenge, as well as the latest fashion trend, the pleated skirt.
I styled it with two different shirts because I couldn’t decide which I liked the best.
I would love your feedback, which one do you like the best!
The first shirt was thrifted, it’s French and has a Matisse like pattern with the same green as the stripes in the skirt, there is a bit of mixology, with the colors tying the look together.
I then changed to this silk blouse, also thrifted, with really beautiful colors and a dynamic graphic pattern. What I liked about this is again there is a pattern mixology going, however the lines that flow out of the circles are like stripes and so it picks up the striping in the skirt. Also I think this is a little more unexpected because it relies on pattern not color to tie it all together.
Shirts, Skirt – Thrifted, Shoes – Pelle Moda, Specs – Vintage, Ted Lapidus & Emanuelle Khanh, Necklace, bracelet – Thrifted.
Would you please weigh in! Which blouse would you wear with this skirt?
Check on jemappelleshen now to see what she did, even as I write this post I have no idea what her’s looks like, we like to surprise each other.
